City Council Highlights March 23, 2026

The City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, March 23, 2026.  Here are the highlights:

  • Council approved a contract with Bolton and Menk Inc. to provide engineering services for the East Bridge Park Sidewalk Improvements Project
  • Council authorized a Greater Monticello Enterprise Fund (GMEF) Loan to Sperr Properties, LLC and L&L Homestyle Café to fund equipment purchases and interior property improvements at L&L Homestyle Café
  • A new loan application was approved to the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority for the construction of a new water treatment facility

City Council Highlights June 23, 2025

The City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, June 23. Here are the highlights:

  • EAB Update: The City’s Parks Department continues to inspect Ash trees for Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), marking over 250 trees for removal so far this summer.
  • Water Treatment Plant: A Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) has been contracted for the project, in effort to expedite project delivery, identify cost-saving measures, and enhance quality control for the project.
  • Expanding Parking Downtown: The City Council approved a contract with Bolton and Menk, Inc. for engineering services for the expansion of a public downtown parking lot.

City Council Highlights March 10, 2025

  • Food Drive for Monticello Help Center: Now through March 23, drop off non-perishable food items at City Hall, MCC, Hi-Way Liquors or the DMV! For a full list of needed items, visit MonticelloMN.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=474
  • Investing in Clean Water: The City Council approved a resolution supporting funding for a new Water Treatment Plant to remove manganese and iron from Monticello’s drinking water. With $11M secured, efforts continue to secure more state and federal funding.
