The City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, October 13. Here are the highlights:
- Manufacturing Month: Mayor Lloyd Hilgart proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month, in recognition of the critical importance of manufacturing to the state and local economy.
- Golf Course Road Trail Project: Work is underway. Crews are expected to complete storm sewer installation this week or early next week. A small section of the roadway is planned to be paved later this year.
- Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) Ordered: The City Council accepted the AUAR Scoping Document and ordered the full AUAR study for the proposed 550-acre technology campus (data center) by Monticello Tech LLC. The full AUAR will evaluate the environmental impacts in the study area as outlined in the Scoping Document and propose mitigation strategies to limit potentially significant impacts should the development move forward.

Monticello, MN – The City of Monticello will begin work on the Golf Course Road (CSAH 39) Trail project on Monday, September 22. The project will install a 10-foot-wide bituminous trail along the north side of Golf Course Road, extending from Elm Street to 7th Street.

The City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 27. Here are the highlights:
- Recognition of Pam Loidolt: The City Council recognized the years of service, dedication, and contributions of Pam Loidolt, Senior Center Director, as she prepares for retirement at the end of May.
- More Art on the Way: MontiArts has received a Central Minnesota Arts Board grant and private donations for a new project Downtown.
- Golf Course Road (CSAH 39) Trail Project: Pending MnDOT final approvals, the trail project is moving forward with an anticipated start in late August and substantial completion by November 2025.
