The City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, October 13. Here are the highlights:
- Manufacturing Month: Mayor Lloyd Hilgart proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month, in recognition of the critical importance of manufacturing to the state and local economy.
- Golf Course Road Trail Project: Work is underway. Crews are expected to complete storm sewer installation this week or early next week. A small section of the roadway is planned to be paved later this year.
- Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) Ordered: The City Council accepted the AUAR Scoping Document and ordered the full AUAR study for the proposed 550-acre technology campus (data center) by Monticello Tech LLC. The full AUAR will evaluate the environmental impacts in the study area as outlined in the Scoping Document and propose mitigation strategies to limit potentially significant impacts should the development move forward.
