The City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, September 22. Here are the highlights:
- Final Outdoor Farmers Market of the Season: Join us Thursday, September 25, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the library parking lot for the last outdoor market of the year!
- New Retail Site for MN Sports Cards: Council reviewed plans for a new building for MN Sports Cards located north of Interstate 94, south of 7th Street and west of Highland Way. The location will be east of the future Big Bore restaurant (formerly McDonald’s).
- Preliminary Tax Levy Set: Council approved a preliminary property tax levy of 8.64%, aligning with the projected tax base growth. This would result in an unchanged tax rate from 2025. Property owners will receive Truth-in-Taxation notices from Wright County in November, that will show estimated impacts based on proposed levy and property value changes. The Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing is scheduled for December 8 during the regular City Council meeting. Final levy adoption will follow the hearing.
